A little about me

About Shannon

Connect with me on LinkedIn ↗

My career started in Silicon Valley during the dot-com boom. I spent the first half of it at Oracle, with adventures around the globe and a chapter living and working in London. Along the way, I learned from incredible people, worked across cultures, and discovered that I love connecting the dots between great products, good stories, and the people who need them.

When I moved back to the U.S. in 2011, I discovered how much I enjoy working with smaller technology companies, where I can help shape the strategy, build the team, and roll up my sleeves. I’m just as happy presenting to the board as I am creating content, speaking at an event, or unpacking boxes at a trade show. Sometimes, all in the same week.

My marketing philosophy? Brand, Demand, and knowing Where You Stand. Know who you are, help the right people find you, and give them a great reason to choose you.

Ideas & conversations

Selected Thought Leadership

Here are a few recent events I helped bring to life—from shaping the concept and writing the script to collaborating with leaders and analysts. Creating content that is forward thinking while making it easy to understand, and always with a call to action.

Summer School: AI 101 for Spend Management

I partnered with the Founding Partner at Groves and Company to make AI feel accessible to procurement and finance buyers at a time when it still felt new, and a little scary. I wrote the script, planned and presented the demos, and translated unfamiliar concepts into practical examples buyers could understand and see themselves using.

The 2030 Team Interview: Bringing AI Agents to Life

I created this webinar with The Hackett Group to show what a team of people and AI agents could look like in 2030, and I played a future Spend Orchestration Leader who guided agents with clear goals and guardrails. It became Raindrop’s best-performing webinar to date, attracting 400+ registrants and more than 350 attendees, and continues to draw viewers on the website.

Lands’ End at NRF: Beyond the Stage

I helped bring Raindrop’s story to a broader retail audience at NRF, working with our customer at Lands’ End to shape an onstage conversation around real use cases and measurable ROI. I then turned that presentation into smaller content pieces for campaigns throughout the year, extending the value of the event well beyond the stage.

Creativity, off the clock

And then some fun

Through life and travels, I’ve been lucky to explore the globe with my husband and partner of 30+ years. We love meeting creative and smart people, and to stay connected, we started a slightly crazy holiday card tradition that now reaches 500+ people each year.

Some years we add a digital twist, like we did in 2025, but there’s always something that arrives in the mail, something to open, hold, and savor. In a digital world, we still believe in the surprise and smile that come from holding something made with care.

Here are a few of our favorite holiday cards. For more on my card philosophy—and why I want to see YOUR picture when yours arrives—read more here.

2025 · The AI Chatbot

A loosely held-together collection of tools—Notion, Python, Imgur, Site5, Claude, and sheer determination—unleashed Zeus, our AI chatbot, named after our new cat, to see what “he” would make of our year.
